Hair colors???

im really really pale, and im thinking about dying my hair. my natural color is ashy brown and its straight and kinda thin and its really boring. i went reddish a while ago but i looked kinda washed out, so theres a lot of red in my hair. whenever i would dye my hair brown it would turn really really dark, almost black. thats what ive tried so far. any tips and how to maintain the color for a while? it always fades and drys out really fast. what color could look good?

You have to pick what goes with your color; like, each skin tone is summarized by a season. Check this out to help you decide: http://www.helium.com/tm/655231/choosing...

You don't want to look washed out, so make sure the color you pick matches your season - being pale isn't easy, but you can make it look like a glow instead if you have the right colors framing your face.

use "for colors" shampoo or paul mitchell color expert stuff look online at paulmitchell.com

Well, if red made you look washed out then blonde is probably out for sure. Without actually knowing what you look like I'll just give you my best guess.

With fairer skin then darker colors USUALLY work better. Not quite jet black, but a softer brownish black could turn out really pretty. Try to buy one shade darker because there will always be a little bit of fade. Loreal Feria comes out really bright (smells gross though). Maybe you could look at their Midnight Ruby or Chocolate Cherry shades.

Also, since you have all that red in there you can "create" your own highlights. Just section off parts of your hair when you're dying and keep them dye-free. When it comes out it will create a really pretty contrast.

Depending on your budget, you can also get your hair super layered to give some life (or you could do it yourself if you're that good). But if not, then make sure to invest your money into a really good conditioner. If you condition well and only dye your hair once in a while, it should restore its moisture within a couple weeks!

Good luck!

maybe you should go to the salon and see some color samples and see what they say. I think their colors would last longer too.
