i know youre supposed to wait a certain amount of time before coloring without washing your hair so the natural oils will take in the color better

You don't HAVE to wait days before getting your hair colored, I don't...I wash my hair the day I get my hair colored, and the color always turns out fine.

i think it is ok..but after you color it..i think u should wait about 2 days to wash it again b/c u could strip the new color from the hair follicle..it needs time to set in and the natural oils that your hair produces will help form a barrier around the color to lock it in...you might also want to pick up some special shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair to help with securing the color and prevent breakage.
