I have blonde hair with gold tones I want the gold tones to go away .I have colored my hair before the gold toned redish color is still there . I even went and bleached my hair at home then put the hair color over it a day or two later the redish color was still there . and even after all I did my natural hair color comes back. I tried a ash med color a professional did it for me in one week thr redish color come right back and I want the redish tones out of my hair from the only part of my hair that turns out the way it should is the hair that is not near the roots and thats the color I want all over .I spoke with another professional she said a blonde with gold tones in the hair will never git rid of them stop waisting your money instead of trying to make it lighter use a med ash blonde when you do there will still be a slight hint of gold tones in my hair but not as much she said if you have red in your hair forget it it is the most difficult hair color to change any suggestion

Its going to get even brassier by constantly putting ash over it...Go to a professional and have them put a bleach on your hair to get past that brassy stage..Bleach always goes through stages on the hair as its processes...From red, to orange, to a brass color, to yellow, then pale yellow. If your wanting blonde without that brass tone, then the bleach has to get through that brassy stage of pigment. go to a pale yellow stage..Like the color of the inside of a banana peel..Thats how I can always tell, then tone..but not with ash.
