Henna coloring on coarse, salt & pepper hair?

Anyone out there ever use it on this type of hair?

This is a tough situation. Why are you choosing this type of product? This particular product also has a metallic base that can interact with other products. Your hair type does not easily except color. It is also lacking a "base" in the "salt" hair. Those hairs are going to radically pick up a different level and tone than the other hair. If you choose a natural to slightly warmer tone than your natural hair and add heat to help process you will get a slightly highlighted effect thanks to your pre existing salt's. Stick to subtle- no ashen tones. They will look greenish in your salt's! Ash hair ages your look also! I would recommend a semi perm hair color is a small amount of ammonia. You have a lot more control over the outcome. It will also penetrate the hair further.

My stylist told me to avoid Henna bc it will compromise the professional hair colorings she chooses to use. I think you should stick with regular hair color. Look at Ion Color Brilliance or Wella Color Charm (Sally Beauty) *if* you do it yourself.

Also try the website Hair Boutique, they have forums there and general info.

I am afraid it will turn out a little pink!! Coarse, salt and pepper hair needs to be colored by a permanent hair color (it covers better)
