It all depends on what color your starting with nad what color you want to go to...If your hair is on the lighter side and want a sun-kissed highlight effect you can put lemon juice on your hair and either blow dry it or sit in the sun for awhile... Then wash it out.

Henna is natural, it works great and actually nourishes the hair. It made mine really shiny. It comes in different colors too, and usually lasts for about a 4 months.

I once colered mine with markers, but I won't recomend that one. Try lemon juice for subtle highlights. Don't bleach, if you smell it long enough you could pass out, or if you get it in your eyes you could go blind instantly and it can burn holes in your skin. I would just use temporary dye if nothing else. You could end up ruining it or harming yourself otherwise. Hope this helps.
