Can my hair be dyed this lighter color?

I've dyed my hair twice in the past, both darker colors. The first time I dyed it, it was a very dark, chocolate brown, whilest my hair was a dirty blondish, light brown. This color soon lightened up into a shade of medium brown, one which I was very happy with. I then dyed my hair again (the first time a friend who dyes her hair a lot did it; the second, my friend's mom who's a hairdresser did.) this time closer to the chocolate brown.

But now I want to dye my hair a little bit lighter, like 'Miku' in the Japanese band 'Antic Cafe'. Can I do this? I have a picture for description. The first is my hair, the second (picture on the left) is a little too blonde for my desired hair color, but imagine it a tad browner, and the third is a color that I would be willing to work with if the light brown doesn't work.

And, after that, if I want to dye my hair darker again, can I do that, too?

And yes, I know that dyeing kills my hair. Thanks. ;]

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

i originally have black hair and last week i decided i wanted to be a dark brunette. was short of money at that moment so i went and bought bleach and a green based brown color (clairol 46D Chesnut brown). i didn't put the bleach on long enough so my hair was orange-red afterwards. i put on the green based brown color in hopes that it'll cover up but still didn't help much (became a dark burgandy brown, too much red in it still). so i finally went to a very expensive salon and had it corrected. was happy for a week until i washed it 3 times so far and now it's starting to get reddish again. HELP! should i bleach my hair again, this time longer until it's pale enough then put brown on again? or other suggestions? i know color enhancing shampoo like ARTEC COCAO BEAN or a demi-gloss color, green base dark brown will be a short term solution, but is there a long term solution to permanently get the red out so i don't have to worry about it on a weekly basis? THANKS SO MUCH!!

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

okay so DO NOT bleach your hair again. all that hair dye will make it turn patchy (trust me I know), and it is risky to use bleach. Unfortunately brown hair dye has a red base to it, and after a while it fades out red. Black hair aslo, will never become fully bleached either. I would suggest waiting at least a week and buy a really dark brown hair dye (Loreal Preference Hair Dye works great). It may be really dark at first, but will fade to a lighter brown after a fe days. Hope it turns out okay. I know how sucky it is when hair dye does not turn out right.

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

please don't make my mistakes and dye your hair again...i suggest something else like a shampoo for brown hair that brings out the brown might tone down the red...like aveda shampoos for different colors look at their website

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

ok so first off, to lighten hair that is naturally dark without the harmful effects of bleach is simply toner. You still could've achieved the dark brunette without bleaching. I mean why would you go from a level 1 2 3 (thats natural dark and black hair color term...from school nlah blah) to a level 7 8 9 (strawberry blond and lighter tones) when you could just use toner which can lift your black hair to a brunette. Anyways, back to color correction; toner has the ability to neutralize or intensify any permanent hair color. to cancel out the reddish tint from the previous color, you have to find a toner that has a blue base. So girl, when u go to walgreens, look for colors that say anything with a number and the leter "b" for blue like 5bv and such. getting a reddish brown dye will not help with the brassy red so anyways, look for cool tones like blue and violet. hope this helps....

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

They more then likely glazed your hair with a semi perm. color to nuturalize the red and get you to a shade you were happy with. Depending on the color brand they used or the condition you hair was in from the coloring, the glaze faded off from the washing. If it really has only been a week, call the salon. Most salons back there work and will fix it free of charge if a service they gave you didnt last as it should have. When you go back, ask them to fill the color first so that it wont fade(as fast) if they are using a semi or if you hair can handel a low volume permanate color insted. After you get your color done be sure to use a color care shampoo and conditioner. Matrix makes a fantstic one. It makes color last longer then anything ive seen. This will protect your hair from fading durring washing and condition it to keep it from looking dry and dull.

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

Yes, you CAN Use That Color. And I Would Advise Using 20 Vol. CREME Developer (10 Vol. Will Not Give "Permanent" Results)If You Can Find Them Try Using L'Oreal Pre-Color Primer And Matrix ForteTh鑼卹apie閳?Cera-Repair Treatment After. They Will Maximize Color Results For "Even Color-Take" and Less Fading Good-Luck!!

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

I wouldn't bleach it again. It almost seems that your professional may not have had enough experience. I was in a similar situation. I dyed my hair and it turned out almost black and I was looking for a reddish brown. Then after a couple of weeks I decided to bleach it. My hair turned out with every color of red in the rainbow %26amp; my hair turned brittle. In my case, I did luck out and found someone who was very experienced. She had to strip it twice %26amp; the base of her product was honey. My hair softened %26amp; she was able to color it the color I wanted. That was about 10 years ago. I still have difficult hair to color %26amp; she has to change the mixture quite offen. So in my case, I felt my hair couldn't stand another home job. My fear is always if I ruin, I don't have the expertise to fix it. I do believe when I was coloring my hair myself that the shine stayed longer than the commercial dyes. Buy it seemed that the do-it-yourself kits are harsher on her hair than the commercial dyes. If you are hell-bent to do the coloring yourself. I would wait at least a month or two before you try again.

Hair color disaster even after professional help!!?

I'm a professional hairdresser. To eliminate the "brassiness" fromy our hair, you need to use a color with a "v" (violet). I suggest, since your hair is fairly dark to use about a level 7, so a 7V. Put it on your hair and leave it for about 15 minutes, when you rinse your hair, the water should be a pinkish reddish color. After rinsing, use a clarifying shampoo (Equate clarifying shampoo is cheap and GREAT). Then dry your hair completely and apply a 5N to your hair. Leave it on about 12 minutes and rinse out thoroughly. You need to use a shampoo for color treated hair that won't "strip" your haircolor. Regis shampoo for colored hair is the best i've used, and it's not too expensive, around $12 maybe.

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

What color should i dye my hair?

i need a new hair style and color but i cant decide what fits my body type im 5'10" and curvy

um my eyes are soooooo green i hate it and my hair is thick but soooo strait and i look best i slate (its a green) so ineed a color that goes with that

my skin is a peachy sandy color

my natural hair color is dirty blond

im thinking may by i should go with red becaue it would go with my eyes

i also look good in brown and dark reds

and i like to wear green and brown eye shadow

im thinking an inch over my sholers layered and dark redishy brown

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

get your hair frosted, it's kind of like highlights but it looks way better. i would either get a light blonde, (but not bleach blonde), or a light brown.

you could probably also do blonde hair. maybe to make it look 'cooler' you could do black or brown tips. or black or brown underneath.

or, maybe you could do brown %26amp; dark red highlights.

don't cut your hair too short, because you might not like it.

you should get a v-cut. (longer in back, shorter in front) and get side bangs, because right now they are in. but don't get them too short or too long. :] good luck!!

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

http://i7.tinypic.com/2ag2oug.jpg %26lt;%26lt;like hers

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

dark red

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

stick with drity blond, thin out ur hair, get a feathered cut~like in the 80's

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

green and short

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

purple, yes...purple

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

definitely a darkish red and maybe a little curly like your avatar.

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

I would go for highlights to enhance your natural blond colour. Dont go anything above shoulder length as you are tall. If you have a longish face then oomph it up a bit by curling it as this in fashion at the moment. If your face is round then you can still have straight hair, but maybe thin it out with a few layers

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

I think that you would look good with layered blonde hair. If you can straighten it. And also get light brown highlights it will bring out your eyes.

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

yea i love red hair i think its really purty i have really thick straight hair too i agree with the other girl said ummmm feathered cccuuutttteee

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

go shoulder lenth,,I'am, also curvey and have dark hair but like to lighten it up almost blonde but not bleached blonde, with high lights, foil highlights are much better then the cap,,,looks phoney,,,go light blond with foil highlights,,will look good with your green eyes and ppl with not recognize you after, and I always feel a little better about myself after I do this, it's worth the money you spend just to feel pretty gor a little while,,good luck

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

if i were you i would go for a medium to dark choclate brown colour with a few layers in the front but not to short. could be worn straight or slightly wavy. if you re really in to a change add a fringe.

What color should i dye my hair and how should i style it?

dark brown with light brown sreaks and a "hump"and a ponytail.i like it.

Eye/Hair color - human genetics?

My family runs the gamut of eye/hair color. I would like to know how this happened and how common/unusual the results are.

Me - female/brown hair and eyes/olive skin tone/straight hair

Husband - male/red hair and green eyes/very fair skin tone/straight hair

Son #1(18) - Used to have blonde hair now has brown hair/blue eyes/very wavy hair/medium skin tone

Son #2 (15) - Very blonde hair/blue eyes/straight hair/light skin tone

We don't particularly look like each other. And yes, they are our biological children.

Eye/Hair color - human genetics?

The hair of baby blonds often darkens

They are temporary blonds

Eye/Hair color - human genetics?

It's mostly from time both of your children will have brown hair.. and as for the eyes...i have no idea, i had greed eyes from no where till 2 and now i have brown

Hair color experts... a question for you?

I want to grow out my own hair color. But i can't afford to go to a salon to get it dyed in my own shade. I haven't colored for about 5 months, but the part that was colored is fading. I need a boost of color fast!

I have medium brown hair. I think i have to dye it again, but... here's where you come in.

Which over the counter dye would you recommend? I'd like one that is gentle, cause i want to stop dying eventually because of the damage it does to my hair...

Is there any way to not throw away my un-dyed roots? I take pride in my 5 cm long roots! lol. But i can't wait until it ALL grows out... help!

Hair color experts... a question for you?

WELL THE ONLY THING I CAN RECOMMEND FOR U TO DO IS TO COLOR UR HAIR WITH SEMI PERMANENT HAIR COLORS AND GET REGULAR HAIR CUTS EVERY 4-6 WEEKS UNTIL ALL OF UR HAIR GROWS OUT.

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outra

I know this guy from thailand, and he was jus going on and on about how BORING girls over here can be! (not personality wise).....he is saying how everbody basically has the same hair style and color, and that they all dress alike...and that we are all clones.

he deeply admires the outrageous girls who have their own style and love to experiment with their hair...

and this got me thinking.....(ps, im in highschool)....Why is everybody's hair a shade of Boring Brown? usually its long and straight too...

and also, why is there a battle of hair color? brunette v. blond?

i mean come one WHO came up with blond jokes? i am on the A honor roll, and gosh im...yeah you guessed it...a blond.? we arnt all jessica simpsons..and i dont even think that she is dumb at all.......

boys say....brunettes are intelligent...but WHOA baby, i have to disagree. brunettes AND blondes AND black AND rainbow AND white are intelligent

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outrageous?

As a brunette I'd like to say that your right there is a constant battle between blondes and brunettes. To tell you the honest truth i've always felt threatened by blondes because I've always felt they were prettier and that guys like them more. but I have nothing against blondes and anybody who doesn't like someone else because of their haircolour is just being dumb and immature.

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outrageous?

hey i totally agree i am a blond myself and also on the honor rule and have you ever noticed blonds are actually smart it is the dyed blonds that give us a bad name!!!!!!!( no disrespect to others)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outrageous?

You are totally right. Just because your hair color is different doesn't mean you're more stupid than someone else. It's like hair racism. People really should'nt be mean to blondes I mean what did they do? probably nothing. I'll bet that some guy way back when made fun of a blonde and it snowballed into what it is today.

As to why having outrageous hair is weird..... hang on I'll go ask my robot companion Ramirez....................................

.........................................

.........................................

He says that he doesn't know what hair is. But I'm everyone that doesn't have crazy hair is just jealous. I know I am. Man do I wish that I had a purple Mohawk.

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outrageous?

red, long and curly is the best, i know loads off blokes that say that they would rather go out with a red head then any other colour

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outrageous?

idk why blonds get so much flack but some bring it upon them selvs and i dont doubt ur intelleigents u seem pretty smart and inlectual so i wouldnt worry about it. And the thing about the guy from thailand he should be the last one to talk all asian women in genearl look alike there are way more differences in amarican women at least thats my 2 cents

Hair color?? why are people mean to blondes, and why is it considered weird to have hair thats outrageous?

yes an intellegent girl! you are right, hair color has nothing to do with how smart they are. however, genetics does...so people use hair color to assume. for example, black hair (asians) do better in school. but dont always believe those stereotypes.

and for that thai dude who says every girl is boring here in the US, its true. Girls in school are pretty much into conformity. Everyone copies each other...because if someone is popular, they want to look like them. We are afraid if we look very different from the group, we get made fun of. Its very rare to find someone who has a unique individual style. In other countries, girls are not afraid to have their own individual style and are comfortable with showing it.

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

okay I dyed my hair from a blonde to a light ash brown to find that is gives me a color of what my mother calls "mousy" its kind of like a greenish brown with a hint of gray i guess you could say ....I want to dye it back to blonde how would i go about doing so.

Please only give me answers if you have previous experience with coloring hair.

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

The easiest way to get it back to the way it was is to go to a beauty supply store and purchase a hair dye remover called ColorZap. It's by L'Oreal, and you might even be able to find it in a department store.

I had a coloring mishap several months back, and one application of this product removed all the dye and my hair was back to its original color, and ready to be dyed again.

I hope this helps. ^-^

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

I know it's going to be more expensive than doing it yourself, but PLEASE go to a colorist. If you keep layering colors on top of each other it will NOT be good. It would probably turn orange. So, like I said, go to a salon.

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but I would go get it done at a hair place. It ends up being a lot cheaper, quicker, and easier on your hair in the long run.

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

well i died my hair from brown to blonde and it looked like crap

what i did is go to the salon and tell them that i wanted my hair blahh blahh blah and then they stripped the new color out and it ended up with my nartualr color

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

Color can't life color so you have to use bleach to get it back to blonde.......my brother is an awesome cosmotologist so I asked him!!! Good luck!!!

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

I did this at one time, I bleached all the color out of my hair and then after a while dyed it brown. It kept fading after a couple weeks to an icky color. Most coloring products you by in a store arent as good as the stuff the salon uses... I would either go to a store like Sally's Beauty Supply and buy hair color or have it professionally done.. Good Luck!

Can someone help with my hair color drama?

If you don't want to waste alot of money you can it yourself;bleach out the color(use bleach that is especially for hair)and dye blond....DON'T KEEP THE BLEACH ON TOO LONG or you can go to a professional. I would go to a salon because if you dont know how to bleach your hair you can f***k up your hair

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

My hair is brown, and got lighter because I put lots of gel in it during summer when I went into the sun. My hair got a little lighter. I want to make my hair really dark brown, but I hear that all hair coloring washes out eventually. How do I make my hair permantly change color to dark brown?

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

there is permanent hair color, but this means that it is permanent on the hair to which it is applied. as the hair grows, your natural color will show at the roots. if you pick a color to match your roots, you should have no problems. permanent hair color may fade, the same way that your natural hair did in the sun. use cool water to wash it %26amp; a spray - in sunscreen in your hair.

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

no

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

dont think there is any permanent dyes ,but im sure there are some which last about 6 months

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

you can not permanently dye your hair as it will grow out

if you decide you want it dyed see a professional, yes I know those boxes in the store are way cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

Nothing is permanent. Unfortunately, all color eventually fades. Trust me I have had all hair colors.

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

Hey I'm a hair stylist so let me ask you some questions? Are you male or female? Do you have any color whatsoever in there- I mean even from a year or so ago? In haircoloring we use a scale for color. so tell me how light is your hair now 5 being the darkest and 10 the lightest. What would you rate it at? Also using the scale again for your desired color dark brown 1 being darkest and 5 being lightest what would you rate it. sorry this might be confusing but this is how the haircolor is done.

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

Of course not. Even if there was a permanent dye (which as far as I know, doesn閳ユ獩 exist because they all seem to eventually fade) your hair will still grow.

Is there a way to permantly change my hair color?

no you cannot your hair grows because of protiens and hair is protien .

How can you make your hair color last longer when you use the permanent box color kits?!?

I cant afford to get my hair done so i do it my self with the kits from the super market. Even the most permanent color i get, seems to fade even after the first week of coloring. Im lucky if my color looks good for two weeks. Any ideas?

How can you make your hair color last longer when you use the permanent box color kits?!?

The color will last much longer if you purchase the color from a beauty supply store instead of from the boxed color found at grocery stores. It actually costs less at the beauty supply store. Try not to wash your hair in hot water at first. It is better to wash with cooler water at first. There are also shampoos that are geared for color treated hair that is worth investing in that you can purchase from a regular store. Actually sometimes beauty supply stores have some pretty good sales on shampoo. Personally I don't really think it matters what brand you use for conditioner as long as it is a name brand. Suave is a good economical brand and it works great.

How can you make your hair color last longer when you use the permanent box color kits?!?

try using a creamy shampoo instead of clear shampoo, which strips.

How can you make your hair color last longer when you use the permanent box color kits?!?

I believe some stylists add a bit of the dye to conditioner, and the person whose hair has been dyed uses that once a week to keep the color strong. Or you could use special shampoo. John Freida is supposed to be good.

How can you make your hair color last longer when you use the permanent box color kits?!?

Use a good quality shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Don't wash everyday either, unless you really have to. I use a 24 shampoo out hair color, because it is not as harsh on your hair and looks a lot more natural.

How can you make your hair color last longer when you use the permanent box color kits?!?

Definitely use a shampoo and conditioner that is made for colored hair. I love Pantene or Dove. Dove has shampoo and conditioner made specifically for lighter or darker colored hair that works great. Also, wash your hair every other day, in between use a shower cap. Make sure to stay out of the sun, or rather keep your hair out of the sun by buying a cute hat. UV rays are most damaging to hair and skin between 10-2, and will fade your color like crazy. Hope this helps!

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

I want to choose between both. I have black hair %26amp; thinking of coloring my hair.

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

Every once in awhile I will try another brand, but I always always go back to Preference by L'Oreal. The least drying and seems to have the most staying power. And doesn't stink to high heaven for days like others.

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

i think loreal is better

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

they all work the same only difference is the price

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

my mom uses l'oreal now. she uses garnier before but l'oreal's color (even if its the same with garnier) stands out. =)

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

Loreal is sooo much better. It's non-drip formula is totally hassle free. Hair becomes so much softer after coloring.

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

horrible, it dried out my hair. you should try clairol hydrance.

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

I have not had good luck with garnier hair color or any of their products. Stick with L'oreal.

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

I trust the L'OREAL brand...

i love the L'OREAL FERIA colour..

and prefernces..

How is garnier hair color? Is l'oreal better than garnier?

Feria is definateyly better. but I also like Herbal essences, but Herbal essences, tends to fade , really fast.

but Feria is good.. Go to A beauty supply like "Hans Beauty " or Sally Beauty supply ..

Hans Beauty , is more upscale.. more of a snobby attitude , on that store ..

they sell a salon quality version of Feria .. but the only hassle, is that you have to buy the color solution and the develper and mix it yourself .. but I find that the color comes out more vibrant . than the one you buy in the box..

the one in the box, doesn't have the right lifting levels, in the developer.. also , they have all the colors that you see in the drugstore . but better quality ..

you can also ask a beauty experts that works there.. in case you have any questions ..

they're very helpfull ..

You can also buy products to , make your color last longer, and many after care products .

Is the color of pubic hair black for all males and females in this world.Or it is blonde for some.?

Has anyone tried coloring it differently using hair colors

Is the color of pubic hair black for all males and females in this world.Or it is blonde for some.?

Obviously you have never seen a red head 's or other variations !!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLLLL !

Of course it is different !

Is the color of pubic hair black for all males and females in this world.Or it is blonde for some.?

I don't know if the color is black for all people, but I do not think so. I think it must be like some mens beards are though. It is a variation of the color of the hair on your head but usually darker than your hair. Also, I read that Marilyn Monroe used to bleach her pubic hair so that it matched the hair on her head.

Is the color of pubic hair black for all males and females in this world.Or it is blonde for some.?

it is a variation of the natural color on your head usually

Is the color of pubic hair black for all males and females in this world.Or it is blonde for some.?

Oh my god.....what planet did you come from.......of course it is different....we have different colored hair on our heads don't we?

Is the color of pubic hair black for all males and females in this world.Or it is blonde for some.?

As far as I know all pubic hair is black. This goes for all people except albinos, their pubic hair is charcoal grey. Another exception is Australian people who lack pubic hair and genitals.

An interesting note off topic. Austalian people reproduce asexually. What happens is when an Australian is sexually mature a lump appears on the Australians lower back, after about three weeks a complete Australian child budds off.

How long should i have to wait so i can put the hair color in my hair again?

http://img469.imageshack.us/my.php?image...

I wanted to get a golden brown color . but as long that my hair had been thru crazy color process: -highlights like 2 years ago ( first time coloring my hair) then it started fading and i didn't re-touch but re-apply a permanent color in Havana brown (red-brunish).... and then i changed it to dark brown. Now I'm changing it into golden but as long as my aunt was who applied it for me (total disaster!!) and my hair ended up just getting the color in the roots. super crazy!!! Now i have to apply alotttttttt of deep treatments and I have to wait up to 2 weeks almost to get my hair all-done. Is this true or what should i have to do???

asap!!! I want to make my hair color beautiful for my second engagement party which is gonna be within a month!

How long should i have to wait so i can put the hair color in my hair again?

when was the 2nd last time you died your hair? if it was like 2-3 months ago, you can just do it now if your hair is healthy.

(or thick)

How long should i have to wait so i can put the hair color in my hair again?

You definitely should keep applying the conditioning treatments. Take showers in the evening. If you have a shower cap, put your conditioner on while in the shower and leave it on all night. If you don't, you can always try wrapping your hair in a towel, but the conditioner will end up being absorbed by it.

Also, when you do go to get your color, PLEASE go to a professional and don't let your aunt do it. But if you are dead-set on having a family member do your hair or if you don't have the money to spend to go to a salon, get the toll-free number for the Clairol company and speak to them and get some insight as to how to proceed. Once you buy the Clairol color, call them again if you are unsure about how to apply, etc.

Hope this helps and good luck! :)

How long should i have to wait so i can put the hair color in my hair again?

you should take and do the complete color over again and do it yourself then you will be able to do it the way you want it done g g and good luck to you also ok

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

I have medium-dark brown hair with one streak of gray right in the very top of my head. It hadn't bothered me before, I had just accepted it as a normal part of getting old, I'm 35. Well it didn't bother until the other day, my much older sisters (4, ranging in age of 48 to 52 and are also gray headed) were making fun of me just because of one little streak. Kinda hurt my feelings a little. Well, anyhoo, I've decided to start dying it and I would like your opinions of hair coloring products on the market today, what do you think are the best ones to use. Thanks very much.

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

I'm only 26 and I've had the same issue for a few years now so don't feel bad. :-) I was told by a colorist in an Aveda salon that a light shade such as blond would obviously help, since you usually can't even spot grey mixed in with blond. The grey would appear to be platinum highlights. However, my hair is dark brown and I'm not willing to damage it again by going blond, plus it's ridiculously expensive to have your roots done every few weeks at the salon. So I tried several SEMI-permanent hair color shades and brands (supposed to last 24 shampoos) that were specifically advertised to cover grey, but even the black one made no different at all on the grey after about 2 shampoos. I wasn't willing to try anything permanent, since I know if I screw things up my hair would end up doubly damaged when I went to the salon to have them correct it. I know one streak can make you very self-conscious, especially since you're only 35 and probably look very young otherwise. Light blond or brown highlights are also an option, but they tend to be even more expensive than all over color. However, the maintenance is less often.

But if you're going to color it, I'd strongly suggest having it professionally done by a colorist who specializes in covering grey- at least the first time. I don't feel comfortable recommending any of the at-home products I used, since none of them were effective for me. I think that's a question best answered by a professional (who isn't trying to sell you something!)

Good luck with whatever you choose!

brown

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

i use natural instincts and the color TWEED...now i just bought some NICE AND EASY for gray and will try it next ..they are both by clairol and work great!

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

brown will suit u coz u have a medium dark brown hair. and it wont show tat u have applied dye coz it is ur natural hair colour.

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

You need to use professional stuff.. dont use that box crap you can buy at any grocery store. it dries out your hair and can leave it very damaged. You need to go into a beauty supply store and talk to a person in there. make sure you get the right developer and be cautious.... dont go too dark or too light. I would go just one shade darker then you are now to help cover the grey and kinda give you a new look.. just slightly though

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

The Loreal line "Feria" works awesome. I am a dark brunette also and I get lots of stray gray hairs. I am only twenty two but I have been getting these stray gray hairs since I was 20.

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

DARK BROWN OR CLOSE TO YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR ,IF YOU DO NOT WANT A DRASTIC CHANGE BUT IF YOU WANT ALL TOGETHER DIFFERENT LOOK GO A FEW SHADES LIGHTER. CLARIOL AND FEW HAIR PRODUCTS COVER THE GRAY BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS RETURN. GRAY HAIR DO NOT STAY COLORED.

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

i personally think like medium brown hair with like a "honey red " that's what i call it its not red but its not blond its kinda a mellow color. looks great and some times it blends in sorta with medium brown hair

What is the best hair color for covering stubborn gray hair.?

I have tried different hair colors from shades to brands and I like Loreal the best or lighten your hair and highlight it you wont need to color it then.

I've had my hair professionally highlighted. How do I experiment with semi-permanent home color

I get my hair done at a salon (foils: highlights and lowlights). My hair is dark blond and light blond streaks, with some slight greying at the roots. The last time it was done professionally, about 3 weeks ago it came out too copper for me. I've always wanted to be able to experiment with home semi-permanent color. Can I do this? Do I need to have a hairdresser do some kind of stripping of the recent color first?

I've had my hair professionally highlighted. How do I experiment with semi-permanent home coloring?

I really wouldn't try this at home. Why not ask your hairdresser for an all over toner instead? This would gradually fade after a few weeks. you already have two clolours on your hair. Be careful, and seek proper advice. it really is worth the expense.

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

I have dark red hair and I've kinda been curious about coloring/highlighting it lately, but I'm unsure of what color to chose. My hair color is unusual so I have trouble comparing it to others. I've been discouraged about doing anything too eccentric, such as blue or green streaks, because I will have to go through the process of bleaching my hair first and then having to dye my roots repeatedly. So, if anyone has any experience with this, is it worth it? Or, if I should just go with normal highlights (like blond, light brown, etc.) what color should I use?

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

I haven't yet coloured mine, but my hairdresser is always telling me about colouring my hair, just ask your hairdresser, she/he might give you some ideas.

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

If you want to look like a natural beauty, pick light brown,

if you want to look "outstanding" pick blond,

if you want to look just pretty then bright red highlights.

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

It's totally worth it. And you don't necessarily have to bleach it. Just leave it in way longer and heat process it. I think you should go cherry red, but you would have to bleach it. Maybe purple, which looks good on everyone.

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

you should probably choose blond because that color will stand out more and it would look better with ur dark red hair

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

SInce you say it's dark red...I wouldn't do too much and die it blonde....I would definately tell you to die it a little darker...maybe brown?

You have red hair...that is so hot! I would NOT die my hair if it was red....

Good luck! 閳?br>I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

Most hair colour brands that you can buy at a pharmacy/chemist have websites that you can go to. These sites have tools to help you decide what colour to choose based on your current colour, and how dramatic of a change you want.

You didn't specify what your natural colour is, so I can not give you advice in that department.

I have dyed my hair nuclear red before, and it was well worth it, but I only had it that way for the holidays (Valentine's Day). My hair is naturally very dark, so the contrast between the nuclear red and dark brown looked really nice. I eventually dyed the whole thing bad to dark brown though, since, like you said, it was too much work to maintain.

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

i would wait till after summer cause the sun-light can effect your hair, last summer i had colored my hair light brown and i went out in the sun a lot and in the pool which had chlorine and my hair turned orange. if your gonna color it then black hair is in style

I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

I think u should dye it black and get red highlights

What is the latest hair cut styles and hair colors for medium to long length hair??

i have medium to long length hair and i want change it up, so what is the latest hair style and hair coloring???

What is the latest hair cut styles and hair colors for medium to long length hair??

Well I have seen many people doing what was popular in the 60's and 70's but if it does not flatter you then why do it. Classic always stays in style and looking good does. I have tried it all as a cosmetologist from extremes to very long hair. I prefer ease of care along with what looks best on me. I look best in a longer layered shag type cut that came into style in the 70's there abouts. I have tried it all since then and the times I get the most compliments is when I have a very good attractive natural coloring on it that flatters my coloration and evens out the color of my hair as my hair tend to lighten unevenly in the sun and I have some very white areas I have had since my twenties around my temples. Now this is not about me but it is to explain what I get compliments on. I have had the one sided hair cuts which were fun, I have had tri color highlighting which was beautiful until it grew out and could not be matched and was a bear to bring back to a natural color not to mention the damage to my hair and expense. Most colors if permanent have a price such as damage or drying out. Some very modern new hennas actually tend to enhance the condition of longer hair which is what my sister who has hair down to her waist and is a nurse has done but with Henna one cannot do a perm until it wears off or is removed which can be very harsh on the hair. My suggestion is that you try out the programs that are not so expensive to buy now that are computerized programs that allow you to change your hair on a photo of yourself such that you can see what you like and show other people. If you have very long hair my suggestion is that you take it off slowly so you do not have a shock reaction to the loss. Often if you want to keep the length there are ways you can put it up that will help it look better along with a trim on the bottom will help take away the dryness.

What is the latest hair cut styles and hair colors for medium to long length hair??

Long layers and a long swoosh (side bangs). Dye your hair dark brown.

What is the latest hair cut styles and hair colors for medium to long length hair??

try a perm

What is the latest hair cut styles and hair colors for medium to long length hair??

laered and brown

What is the latest hair cut styles and hair colors for medium to long length hair??

i would try sideswept bangs and choppy layers it'll accent your cheekbones very nicely, and as winter is comming in a darker color is definatly something you want to think about, but be sure that if you dye your hair dark to not forget the eybrows, you want it to look natural, not like you did it at home, even though u probably will ;-P

I want to change my hair color?

I have white skin, with a tint of yellow. I have short hair (that im growing out). I have dirty blonde hair right now naturally. I was thinking of some sort of red, but i don't know how it would look on me. (i've never dyed my hair before). any advice on a color... or i've heard something about temporary coloring, know any good brands?

I want to change my hair color?

if its ur first time coloring dnt go too crazy....its very hard to adjust...i see ur name is mommy to be....dnt get something that is going to be hard to maintain...i just had a baby and its work...go with something like strawberry blond....something like that....ask ur stylist what they think....they can help you pick a color that is right for you!

I want to change my hair color?

burgdey what look good

I want to change my hair color?

if you are really nervous, i would suggetst going into a salon for help.

but if you insist on doing it yourself, you may not ge the results you want. sometimes natural hair color doesn't take in dyes as well as they should at first so it may take a few times.Clairol and Loreal naturals have color charts that you can see your results in. go into your local pharmacy and hold the hair samples up to your face to see if they contrast or not

Good Luck!

I want to change my hair color?

From experience, don't , whatever you do, drastically change your hair color. it took 4 years to get the red dye out of my hair, and i had bright blonde hair. It was awful.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

I have hair down to my butt and I always have trouble with wigs so I'm thinking about coloring my hair--that would be much easier I think, providing I can find something that WILL wash out with one wash. As you know Halloween is on a Wednesday this year so I would need it to go back my natural color for work on Thursday. I have dark brown hair now. So any suggestions, stores I can buy them at...anything. Thanks.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

I'm a blonde and do it every year for Halloweenie. You need Fanci-Full temporary hair dye by Roux in the blue bottle available at the beauty supply. The stuff is cheap and you just squirt it in your hair in sections until you get coverage. Do it in the shower or tub though, it makes a mess and just rinse off whatever you get on your skin. It usually takes me 3-4 bottles of the stuff and my hair is down to the middle of my back. Rinses in %26amp; shampoos out.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

you can buy coloured moose at most drug store or wal-mart that wash out.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

As far as I know, there is NO temporary black hair dye. Black dye lasts for a VERY long time.

Unless they sell one of those sray can type of temp hair dyes, Your best bet would be to purchase a cheap wig.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

I'd suggest the temporary hair spray, however it makes your hair hard. I've used it when I went one year as trinity. My hair is light brown. It washed out, though there was some residue on my scalp after wards.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

You could look for colored mousse or, since you have dark brown hair already, you could buy Pantene's Midnight Expressions shampoo and conditioner. Its meant to enhance black hair and will give you a darker tint if used several days in a row.

The effect won't go away completely after your first shampooing, but it won't be so drastic that your boss would have a problem with it.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

Try colored mouse. When I needed to temp. color my hair, I used a black hair spray. It was made especially for Halloween.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

Buy color moose or color hairspray. I have dark brown hair and I wanted to be a rockstar for Holloween. I got tons of color hairsprays and sprayed them all over my hair. My hair was so cool the next day.

I need a temporary black hair color for Halloween...any suggestions?

I-Party or some halloween store. They always have cans of colored hairspray that washes off whenever you want it too wash out. They don't have anything online so be sure to look in the stores. They always have a bigger selection in stores than online. Good luck!

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

A little over a week ago I dyed my hair with loreal color pulse. It is a temporary hair coloring that is supposed to wash out in 8 to 10 washes. It is fading but not as fast as I would like since I would like to highlight my hair. My question is this... can you highlight over hair that has been dyed with a temp dye???

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

Yes you can. Be sure and condition your hair before and after you highlight.

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

Nope, In the instructions that come with the hair dye boxes, it says not to. I read it before.

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

OH NO! YOU DONT WANT TO RUIN YOUR PRETTY HAIR!!!!!

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

No

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

the color pulse should wash out in about a week.

and then color it, just to be safe.

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

As long as the temporary color is not too far from your natural color it should wash out. If you want to remove it sooner you should use a dandruff shampoo and follow with a conditioner like clairol beauty pack. Although it is best to wait, you can highlight, as in use a product that has some lightening action and ingredient, over your temporary color.

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

Yes, you can if your hair is in good enough condition to take the bleach. Where you can run into some funky color is dyeing back over the hi-lights. Good luck.

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

yes because it is removing the dye not the highlights okay glad i could help

Can you put highlights over temporary hair color?

It really depends on the health of your hair and how often u have used color in the past u can highlight over hair that has been temp color dye IF there are no damages to your hair as far as frizziness AND make sure you get a pro to do it!!! AND use a deep conditioning on it about three times a week for about a month. I used to be a cosmetologist for 30 years and i am not an old foggie i am only 47 yrs old

How can i get back my natural hair color?

I have been coloring since i was 13, now im 21! I tried most colors, such as red, black various shades of brown and off course highlights! Since i have curly hair i have tried to relax it, i tried it 3 times, and each time it left my hair dry and still wavey to curly! Its time to give my hair a break and bring it back to natural, the problem is I cant remember my natural hair color.

How can i get back my natural hair color?

Hello, The best way to find out your natural color is to let it grow without coloring for at least six to eight weeks. Then have a hairstylist look at the color of the regrowth. Then choose a color that is at least one shade lighter. Hair is always darker at the scalp.

Then use a "Demi"-permanent color on your hair as close to your natural hair as possible. But I would caution you, Do not use a color that is Ash. Like Ask Brown or Ash Blonde.( Your hair could have a greenish look if you do) Use a Neutral or a Golden Brown or Blonde. Condition, Condition, Condition. Re-apply the color when the color fades, every two months probably. But do not leave it on more than five to ten minutes. If you hair is dry it will absorb too much of the color and get too dark. Condition, Condition, Condition!!

And do not relax your hair during this, it is very damaging to colored hair. Curls are beautiful, use a Curling Brush to soften the curl, if your hair is long, use the 1 1/4" Curling Brush if you can find it. Sally's might have one, if not, use the 1 inch brush. Condition, Condition, Condition. Use a leave-in conditioner like Infusium after every shampoo. Use a deep conditioner at least once a month or more.

Do not use a color from the store. If you can't afford to go to a good hairstylist, Go to a Sally's Beauty Suppy and buy a "Demi-color" and mix with 10 Volume Cream Peroxide. Mix equal parts, like 2 oz. of color and 2oz of peroxide. Leave on ten minutes, shampoo and Condition, Condition, Condition. Good Luck, Maureen

How can i get back my natural hair color?

Hello again, Didn't add, if your hair is blonde, when you use the Demi color of neutal or gold base, you need to add a very small amount of a red orange based (copper) color to it. As one of the answers said, you need to replace primary colors into the hair if you want a natural color. Maureen Report It

How can i get back my natural hair color?

go to a saloon and tell them

put a permanent hair colour

and do consult a hair expert

How can i get back my natural hair color?

If you've had it dyed, the only thing you can do is to let it grow out. Your roots will soon remind you of your natural colour !

How can i get back my natural hair color?

well i would wait until my roots show a little bit...this will tell you what your natural hair color is and its also easier for you when you go to pick out the hair dye color since you can actually see what color your hair is

How can i get back my natural hair color?

Good Luck! It takes time. You can color it but it will always bleed back out. The best way is to cut it short and let it grow back out trimming it often as to get more of the color off of the ends.

How can i get back my natural hair color?

how about just waiting for it to fully grow.. that'd be around a year or more to be sure

How can i get back my natural hair color?

Let it grow

How can i get back my natural hair color?

how can u not remember ur natural hair color?.

ask ur parents, they'll know and then dye it back?

How can i get back my natural hair color?

Ok, the obvious answer is to let it go. But if you want to help it along then wash your hair in Caromile shampoo. It helps restore natural colour.

Hope this helps...

How to do I keep or maintain green color in my hair?

In July I went to a professional and got my hair colored to Iguana Green. Went through a cut, bleach and then coloring. The most advice I have gotten on keeping the color is to rinse my hair when I take a shower and use a color treated conditioner while mixing it with some of the dye. And only wash my hair once a week. Well, I have oily hair and doing that is only make my scalp itch and my hair look limp and unclean. I want to find out if there is anything else I can do.

How to do I keep or maintain green color in my hair?

You can wash your hair every day. Just be sure to dilute your shampoo about 50/50 with water. Try that with a shampoo especially for colored hair. For conditioner, try 25/75 dye to conditioner. Leave it on for about 3 minutes every time you wash your hair. Use a 50/50 mix of your dye and conditioner for about 15 minutes every week. That should help to keep you nice and vibrant. Good luck. A Question for all hairstylist out there, what hair color and cut would be good for me??

I am a young mom and I want a style and color that is fun but also very easy. I have tried almost every color and style under the sun and have not found anything that I really love. I have a very round face, my hair is naturally medium brown but I have highlights and lowlights in it . The length of my hair is about almost to the middle of my back. I have a fair to medium complexion with blue-green eyes. I want to here any ideas, short hair , long , medium it doesn't matter. I also want to know what hair color would be most flattering to my coloring but also very easy to maintain. thank you to all who take to time to help me with my question.

A Question for all hairstylist out there, what hair color and cut would be good for me??

Your face shape looks best with a medium lenght with an angled front starting mid cheek or chin . Blend layers into this with a bit of razoring on the edges to give it more movement. I think a nice light brown with red highlights, or an auburn brown done at a salon would look beautiful against your complexion and with your pretty eyes. I am the same coloring and I loved it on me !

A Question for all hairstylist out there, what hair color and cut would be good for me??

I would stick to your natural hair color as it is the easiest to maintain - no trips to get touch ups or anything like that. But I would get my hair cut shorter. It will be easier to maintain and fix since you are a young mom. Anything that is quick and easy with kids is the best!

A Question for all hairstylist out there, what hair color and cut would be good for me??

Here are some ideas.

buy a chi, they flip strighten, curl, they are fast and easy to use.

id go with longer hair, its always easy to pull your hair back ith your in a rush. Plus you can do just about anything with long hair.

As for colors i try to stay away from the normal. right now my hair is platunim and bright red. it does have a little more upkeep then other dye jobs because the platunim is so light my hair almost looks black comming in (its a barker blonde naturaly) but its well worth it.

If you would rather go natural colors Pick 3 and have them stripe it. i have blonde red and brown done around my face was brown then red then blonde then brown the stripes were about a inch maby a inch and a half thick. It looked so cute.

Get chopsticks. They are cute, they are easy to put in (it may take a little bit to get the hang of it but once you figure out how it will take 5 mins max to do your hair) and they are great for anything from goofing off to going out.

Rember it is hair if you shave it it will grow back if you get a bad dye job you can dye it agin. Just pick something you think may look cool and jump in feet first.

one tip- dont look untill they are done. when I had the platunim and red done I looked after the rence and started laughing my butt off. My hair was yellow and i looked like a idot. By the time she was done it looked fab and far from yellow.

So if you dont know exactly what to expect dont look you dont want to laugh or cry.

Im a 23 year old mother of 2 girls (6 and 3). After my oldest was born hubby and i bleached our hair and I got a tub of pink palmaid and a tub of purple palmaid. after lilly was born I went a mengita purple color (not what I wanted but it looked cool anyway) last summer i went light blonde with red streks on top when i pulled it back i looked like a skunk.

now im platunim on top and bright red under. Have fun with your hair.

A Question for all hairstylist out there, what hair color and cut would be good for me??

try and elevated bob...they are easy to style...shorter in the back...and longer in the front...its angeled ...your longest piece would be below the chin...shortest piece would be cut at the neck line...try it....I wore it this way and found it very easy to style...it gave a style...since your face is round...have whoever does it frame your face...so it looks smaller...hope it works

S.O.S. Major Hair Crisis! When Can I Go Back To My Natural Blonde Color?!?

Here's what happend in a nutshell: I have naturally dirty blonde hair and it gets natural highlights in the summer. It's October and I wanted to lighten up my roots so I used this no-ammonia "natural affects" hair color which only seemed to darken my hair. So, I decided to use Herbal Essances "blonde bombshell". BIG MISTAKE. It wiped out my natural roots making my hair one single extremely light strawberry blonde color. Horrible. So, I went for "constructive coloring", spent about $200 for them to fix it which resulted in: light redish/brown on top, and darker redish/brown on the bottom!! Horrible again.

Q: When/how can I get my dirty blonde hair back? Please help. :(

-hair hysteria

S.O.S. Major Hair Crisis! When Can I Go Back To My Natural Blonde Color?!?

If I were you, I would leave it alone for awhile.. Constantly coloring it will only destroy it more... I should know, I just royally screwed up my hair not too long ago...

S.O.S. Major Hair Crisis! When Can I Go Back To My Natural Blonde Color?!?

Since u died it the color should fade in 3 to 4 weeks.

S.O.S. Major Hair Crisis! When Can I Go Back To My Natural Blonde Color?!?

Wow sorry that was so terrible for you. I would say you have two options but either one will take waiting time...it is recommended you wait 2 weeks or more between coloring. If I were you I would get it colored again but at a nice salon. I know paying the money sucks but I would go to one that is known for coloring or call around to the fancier places and ask if they have a color specialist - then make an appointment with them. I would bring an old picture for them to base the coloring on and ask if they can put some high or low lights in there to get that dirty blond look. They will do what looks most natural. Best of luck to you!!! For now go easy on your hair and maybe use organic stuff and maybe a gentle leave in repair mask...If it is dry mix up some honey and olive oil- nuke it for a few seconds and apply that to your hair. A little goes a long way- it's amazing - i have really dry hair and it makes my hair shiny and wonderful. Just put it on for 20 minutes then wash out with shampoo.

Hope this helps!!!

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

hey. I want blonde hair. currently have boxed dyed red hair.naturally my hair is brown. what is hair foiling? interms with coloring? what would be the best route 2 color it pro like regular, or foiling or what?

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

ok.....first of all, when you put an at home color on your hair, it contains metallic dyes. These dyes are very hard to cover up even by professional colorists. My suggestion is to see your stylist for ideas. She may advise you to let the red grow out if it is permanant color. If it is semi-permanant, I would wait a few weeks until it came out. The foil method is best, as it blends the highlights better and works great for thick hair. My hair is natural brown, and I was never able to achieve blonde without professional help. Unless you wanna turn out having reddish orange hair, I would let the stylist handle it, because it is hard to lift (or lighten) your hair color if its darker than the shade you want. Good luck!!

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

go to a flipen hairdresser

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

You should go see a beautician about the process needed to get to blonde. I am also naturally light brown but dye my hair red. Last year, I wanted to go back to natural and I had to buy a color stripping kit, strip out the color of my hair, and then the beautician dyed it back to natural for me. It only cost me about $50 going that route, but if you have them strip it and dye it for you, it will be over $100. So...give your beautician a call and see what needs done. Good luck!

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

you neeeed to go to a salon, especially if your hair is dyed red right now. theres not going to be a developer with enough lift that youll want to use to cover the red with blonde. its not likely. in the salon they can do foils, where they pain the color on and fold it up into sheets of foil to let the color develop. trust me, you cant do foils on your own. go to a salon!

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

I have no idea what hair foiling is, but I think they sell hair coloring kits at Wal-Mart and at other stores. I think this is a fairly obvious answer.

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

go to a barbor

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

Go to a licensed beautician for the best job.

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

Personally, I think you should just go to a place like Bubbles, or some other professional hair salon and have them take care of it. My hair always comes out really good, if I go to a salon.. and think about it.. when people look at you, that's one of the first things they see is your hair. Don't you want it to look it's best?

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

I wouldnt sugest that. Coloring doesnt damage your hair, but bleaching it really does. If you naturally have brown hair, i would just sugest high-lights, but go to a pro. for that. If you try to highlight yourself, it ends up looking like spots! lol. but foiling is only for high-lights, and if you do go blonde, be sure to get your eyebrows dyed, lol. It looks wierd when someone w/ blonde hair has dark brown eyebrows. lol

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

bleach it.... you should def. go to your hairstylist. =]

(KIDDING!)

Go to a hairdresser. She can help you get back to your normal color and re-dye your hair.

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

you should see a professional. because it could turn orange or something.

hair foiling is when they do certain pieces of hair. like when i got my hair highlighted 2 colors they foiled it so the colors wouldn't mix.

ask the profesional what you should do.

and remember going lighter is worse for your hair than making it darker.

I would like to get my hair colored blonde. how do i do it?

since you have to use bleach to lighten it its best to go to a pro. foiling is taking strips of foil placing your hair on top and painting the bleach on, they are used mainly for highlights.

Is it possible to go from a medium brown hair color to a natural blond?

I am going to a hair salon tomorrow AVEDA to get my hair cut and colored. I have what I believe to be medium brown hair, not 100% sure it could be considered dark aswell, but I have seen people with darker brown than mine.

I am wanting to put blond in my hair. I have had blond highlights once before but didn't like it because you really couldn't tell except when I stepped in the light just right.

I don't want to die my hair all the way blond, I don't want it to look fake. I want to go for a natural look. I want a brownish blond look, coloring hair is expensive so I want to look like I have blond in my hair.

I don't want a blond color that I will have to go touch up my roots every two or three weeks. Something that when my roots start to show they don't look to out of place?

Is it possible to reach this? How do I explain this to my stylist?

Sorry for the long ramble :S

Is it possible to go from a medium brown hair color to a natural blond?

Its absolutely possible to achieve the look you are wanting. Explain to your stylist exactly what you just said here. Your stylist will probably do foils, which is a method of high lighting your hair, but many different colors can be used.

As a hair stylist, if you came into my salon, I'd probably foil your hair with three different colors. My first color would be 1 level lighter than your natural color, the second color would be 3 levels lighter than your natural color and the third color would be 4 levels lighter than your natural. I would leave a thin piece (1/8th of an inch) of your natural color between each foil. After everything is done, all the colors will blend together giving you the look that you want. And because you have 4 colors in your hair (your natural plus the other three) it will look totally natural.

Is it possible to go from a medium brown hair color to a natural blond?

highlights prolly are u best choice

Is it possible to go from a medium brown hair color to a natural blond?

thats the same problem im having. im thinking of going a golden blonde so when my brown roots grow out i wont have to reach into my piggy bank and get touch-up money. look on the internet for celebrity hair color you like and print it out. take the photo to the stylist. Tell them " I am really picky about my hair, can you achieve this look". Make sure they sound and look confident. If they dont, go somewhere else. hair says alot about a woman

Is it possible to go from a medium brown hair color to a natural blond?

just like you eplained it to us. Just let her know that you want natural looking highlights, which are a few shades lighter than your natural color, and lighter and no matter what it will look "done". If you truly want it to look natural then sandy blonde highlights should look great with your loght brown hair. and also tell her to put highlights around the frame of your face but not where you can see it in the hairline around your face, know what I mean? Good luck!

Is it possible to go from a medium brown hair color to a natural blond?

Well you may have to do lt a couple of times before you can get lt really blonde. l have brown hair to and l died my hair and lt went an auburn color. so l gave up. but you`ll have to do lt at least try lt about three times. lt`s eventually gonna turn blonde. lt was awful when l tried to get my hair to go blonde.

A Question for all hairstylist out there, what hair color and cut would be good for me??

You should try www.hairstyles.virtual-hairstyles, http://www.femail.com.au/virtual-hair-st...

I recently dye my hair, will the color show?

i mean, my goal is to make it look like at least my whole hair is a bit (obviously) red. i have naturally black hair, and i highlighted my hair blondish streaks back in january. now i bought garnier hair coloring: intense auburn. it was obvious in my streaks, but not with the rest of the black hair. it's night time right now and i can't really tell if the rest is red at all. would there be a little difference? i'm trying to make as much sense as possible.

I recently dye my hair, will the color show?

you see, the dark parts of your hair need to be lightened before dying them a lighter color; your blonde parts dyed because they're light turned dark, if that makes any sense. i'm not sure if the color will show, i'm leaning towards a no.

I recently dye my hair, will the color show?

The rest of your hair may have a slight tint of red in bright light but that's about it. In order to get the red to show all over (%26amp; be noticable) you're going to have to prelighten your hair. I suggest having it professionally done to get the maximum results. Depending on how bright you want the red to be you probably don't have to lighten it too much. But obviously the lighter your hair is the more brilliant the shade of red.

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

i have natural white blond hair and i dyed it black a while ago. i then yesterday decided to bleach parts of it on the top area. and to my surprise it turned bright orange. ugh. i have a big event tomorrow with lots of people. so i am thinking about just coloring it all with some preferably blond color to help it get back to its natural state quicker. but my question is will i need to get light blond to cover the orange because i'm not sure if the blond will hide the orange. please any tips.

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

Hey..in my opinion, you'd be better off doing a quick dye job in a dark colour to cover the orange, as i dont think the blonde will quite work! It will probably make it worse, then after the big event get to the hair dressers %26amp; get all the dye chemically removed..then you can have a fresh start!

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

hmmm u have screw it up big time... my advice... juss use some temporary black color(hair mascara, etc)... and get over with the event.... and let me remind u ... every time u color and bleach and colour and bleach .... u r screwing ur hair bigtime.. and forget about doing t in such shot intervals.... so once the event is over go to good hair stylists... one who specializes in hair colouring and work out ur options with them....trust me, they aint new o screw ups and will give u ur best options.... and could also tell u .. what products will give u ur desired results... i think u were looking for blond high lights instead of orange ones.....

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

Light blonde home haircolor will not cover the orange.

Since you need a quick fix, you could use a temporary dark brown color.

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

Just completely bleach out the orange parts then put blonde dye on it..then it will be fine.

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

the classic mistake of dying hair black and wanting it to b blonde again...

problem is the black needs to b stripped...this is called colour correction - the hair is bleached several times, and ash toner applied to neutrilise the orangeness and more bleach put on @ a later stage.

the colour willl be more of a dark blonde colour and may still b a lil ginger after the inital colour correction - use a shampoo like Matrix So Silver which puts ash tones bk into the hair to help neutrilise the gingerness - it enchances blonde and grey hair.

(i had colour correction done a yr ago - dark red hair stripped and bleached and it went gingerish after so i used tht shampoo and was bit of a life saver)

Unfortunately it cant b done @ home with the home kits from the shop as the peroxide levels in the kits are no where near strong enough to lift the black outta the hair.

ne more questions, email me!

Will Blond Hair Color Change This Mistake?

USE Alfoil, or aluminum foil whatever you call it. just cover it over your head and its will help heaps with the process. i coloured my hair black but got sick of it so i ended up colouring it blond twice and then brown to make it look nice so maybe you should try to eventually get it to your blond hair

Semi-permanent hair-color?

i've been coloring my hair a darker brown because the sun lightens it so much and i was wondering if there's a way to make it stay longer? i have to shower daily because my hair gets oily if i dont, and i'm not a fan of permanent because i hate roots and am too impatient to wait for it to grow out if i change my mind about it. any suggestioins? thanks :-)

Semi-permanent hair-color?

i personally used John Frieda's Color Glaze. its not too expensive...i bought it at the walgreens in my neighborhood for under $10.00. It is used in the shower after you shampoo. It works for me, dont know if it will work for you or not, but i havent had any problems with it.

my hair is dark brown. i dyed it blonde, and then dark brown again. my dark brown kept fading bc of the blonde underneathe. The color glaze darkened my hair back to dark brown (after the semi permanent hair color had just started to fade) and it keeps it from fading on me.

good luck.

check out the site. it helped me find the right color glaze for me.

Semi-permanent hair-color?

Perhaps using a shampoo that is especially for colored hair will help keep your color longer. Only soap-up once.

but I think using a permanent would be better in your case since you wash your hair so much and also color every other week. Find one that is closer to your own hair color. A little lighter or a little darker. Roots wont show as badly.

Semi-permanent hair-color?

there is this kind that my mom gets to cover up gray hair (lol). it washes out slowly for like i think a month. go to the hairdresser and see what they think

Semi-permanent hair-color?

use color n a spray can it cums @ many stores %26amp; u can wash it out %26amp; put it back n da nxt day

Semi-permanent hair-color?

Just go permanment or change your hair to a lighter color

Semi-permanent hair-color?

you have two methods of approach.

getting a shampoo and conditioner that says color safe, it will wash your hair but not strip out the color.

and or you could get a shampoo/conditioner that has a color tint to it to keep your color vibrant between coloring with semi-permanent.

this will last until the next shampoo.

you could also use a combination approach and use both methods, together to keep you hair color fresh and vibrant.

Blessings!

Semi-permanent hair-color?

I like changes when I dye. I usually do it myself, but it was the same old, dye blond, dye blond, etc. My hair is dark, or dirty blonde. I dyed red once, my son hated it, my husband loved it. We had the best se x when I was a redhead. I've done just the blond thing from then on, though.

I recently went darker, and that has worked so well for me. My natural blonde highlights my dark hair now. I went to a salonist for the darker, it turned out great. I will go back, and I don't have to worry about roots since my hair is naturally dirty blonde, the streaks of my own color are great. I am so happy going darker, but I can't really see your hair to compare to :-(

I suggest trying and using different techniques, one of them is right for you but you won't know unless you try it?....

Semi-permanent hair-color?

well if the main reason it fades is because you shower daily, you no you dont have to get it wet...wear a shower cap, so you can wash your body but you aint fading you colour, And then use dry shampoo..It comes in a can and you spray it in and it takes away oilyness, or something you will have in the home..Talcom powder. So its a win win situation...You can shower, keep your colour and not have oily hair

So you dont have to wash it everyday like it seems your doing
