How do I use henna at home, for coloring my hair?

I need an easy way to do henna at home without causing a lot of mess. And please noone suggests going to a hairdresser. I know it would be much better but I'm asking this cause I wanna try it at home and I don't want to go to a hairdresser. Any suggestions??

I did it a long time ago on my granny s hair, well you just got to be on the floor where there s no carpet , put the henna paste on you hair and get a shower cap to cover it and do it on a day you dont plan to alot of house work oh and wear old clothes while it s on , you dont wanna stain anything else other than ur hair
