I have tried it and it basically makes your hair dry. You can probably test it as it may not be as bad as chemicals, but it is.

Henna gives hair a reddish color, not black.

no but i tried it with cinnamon 2 get it kinda reddish trust me genna is just no i mean u have 2 have it 4 several hours and then it gets hard it alwayz gives me a headache i bought it in mexico 4 5 pesos!

yes i know because i am a henna (mehandi)professional.it is a long process.i still tell u u need to take a iron bowl no plastic or glass or steel etc pure iron bowl next take henna and mix with strong tea decoction and and keep it in iron container for 3 days and keep stiring it after every 10 hours the henna then applied will give black colour and not red.u can also add indian herbs like awala methi tulsi etc in henna before mixing.henna should be applied on hair 4 atleat 2 hours.and if u can oil ur hair next day after henna application it will be great because hair colour will last long and hair will not feel dry.in india we still use this method to colour ur hair.
