umm i dont recomened using food colouring

you could get a splotchy look

if you go to walmart and go to the hair dye department theres usually temporary hair dye

if you are a light hair colour already you might have to double it to get the "black" look you want

and make sure when you do it at home you get all the hair

and you wash it out really good

mmm u wan try some wash. loreal used to have semi permanent hair dyes designed for teens. it was like a mousse. i dont know if they have them still.
