Colouring your hair could make it dry and even make it weaker. It is better to use higher quality dyes, because the effects of a cheap dye could turn your hair a totally different colour.

It could become dry, and unless you let your hair grow out from the color, you have to keep it up which sometimes can be aggravating. I have kept my hair dyed for a long time. :)

Well if your going to get it done, don't do it yourself. First of all coloring your hair continously can be a problem because the ingredients in the coloring mixture contain oxide and other chemicals that cause split ends, dry hair and damaged scalp. If you have a damaged scalp chaces are your fallen hair wont grow back and if it does, it will take a century. Point is, go aesy on the color, its not that bad but instead doing it yourself pay a few extra bucks to have a professional do it. Some money spent is better then a bad hair day-every day.
Good Luck!

Permanent hair color grows out, leaving what I think of as caterpillar roots. If you don't like contrasting roots, there are constant touch-ups to do done. It's difficult to touch-up evenly without build-up on the rest of the hair or further weakening the previously-colored hair.
Temporary hair color rinses out. It may rinse out on unintentional occasions. Rain, lawn sprinklers, super-soakers, even perspiration might cause the color to run onto your skin, your clothing or items near you. Imagine messing up the backrest of an automobile seat.
