How long do you have to wait in between coloring your hair?

I agree with the previous stylist, but I'd also have to add that alot of it depends on the condition of your hair after the color, and what else you are trying to do. If you are just wanting to maintain your color, then every 6 weeks is about average.

If a mistake was made and you are needing a fix job, it depends on the condition of your hair and how much of a fix job you would need. If it's a tonal change, that can be easy to fix with minimal damage, if any to the hair. If it is too dark and you're wanting more than 2 shades lighter, you would want to make sure you are in good shape and the elasticity of your hair is good. (You're stylist can check this for you)

If you're a color addict, and you like to play with color and do a lot of color changes, you have to ALWAYS remember the history of your hair. IE...my hair was blonde and now it's dark, even though I don't see blonde, I have to remember there is blonde underneath all this color and the chemical damage that came along with that. So then every time you do a major change, it weakens the hair more and more every time to where the "chemical haircut" can come into play.

So...long answer short. It depends a bit on what situation you're dealing with and what kind of condition your hair is in.

Normally about 1 hour

I am a stylist and can say that you should wait at least two weeks if you are talking about a full head color with major changes. Longer if you are using a box color from a place like Walmart or Target because they are harder on your hair. If you are talking about getting a full head color and then some highlights they can be done back to back. But if you are just completely changing your hair then you want to try to put as much time as you can between hair colors because if you color too much too soon you can get what we call a chemical haircut, which is a really ugly thing that can't be fixed because your hair will break off in different spots all over your head with some breakage at the scalp and some farther down. So I'd suggest waiting at least two weeks if not four for good measure.

I usually do it in between four and six weeks as recommended.
