Which genes dominate the coloring of a childs hair and eyes?

I always thought that if one parent had blond hair and blue eyes and one parent had dark hair and green eyes... the genes of the lighter haired parent would dominate and the child would end up with that coloring. My friend has the opposite understanding... a free lunch is riding on the answer. Thanks.

Your friend is correct. I just studied this in school. Dark hair always dominates light hair. And the allele for green eyes overpowers the allele for blue eyes.

the DARKER gene is the dominant gene in the majority of cases. if you have a parent light in color(hair, eyes)and one dark, the children most all of the time carry the DARK trates..
