Is coloring your hair when pregnant really something you shouldn't do, or is it just an old wiv

"They" say the chemicals can soak in through your scalp, be absorbed into your bloodstream, travel through the placenta, and cause birth defects. "They" have never proven this and it has never happened to anybody's baby. The only concern is the fumes from the dye causing you to feel sick or faint (your need for oxygen increases when you're pregnant), so use ammonia-free dye in a well-ventilated room and you'll be fine.

the chemicals are absorbed into your bloodstream which feeds the fetus. why take the chance?

No, it's really true. It's recommended that pregnant women not color treat their hair due to the chemicals. There's a lot of "don'ts" that you should read up on if you're pregnant.
